PAT’S INCREDIBLE PROCESSED SUGAR FREE SWEET TEA! SO GOOD YOU’LL WANT TO EAT IT WITH A FORK AND SPOON!

Good Morning Foodies!

As I have mentioned before, I had gastric bypass surgery almost seven years ago, and lost 160 lbs. of which I have kept off 145. Not to bad. Part and parcel of the deal, though, is that I am now unable to digest processed sugar properly. This makes things a bit difficult for ice cream and sweet tea drinkers like me.

So, I have found out over the years that I have been able to process honey and pure maple syrup. A great friend of mine recently made me a tea that we turned to iced tea and it was remarkable. I don’t have an exact recipe, and this is one you should feel out for your own tastes.

She made a simple syrup using maple syrup and honey and water instead of sugar. She then added some clove, allspice and orange zest and boiled that down. She added cool water a little later and it was just fabulous!

Give this a try! And remember to share this blog with friends and family who may benefit from this post.

Until next time; Don’t forget to taste!

COFFEE…HOW TO BREW FOR YOU!

Good Morning Foodies!

As an ending leading into this Easter weekend, I thought we would discuss different brewing methods for coffee. I am a coffee and tea fanatic and I love to explore different ways to brew both. My personal favorite is the French Press.

I found a video on YouTube that shows three different methods of brewing small amounts of coffee. I have tried two of these and can’t wait to get the rig to try the third. It is by far the coolest.

The reason I like French Press coffee is that it seems to take the bitterness out and keep the rich flavor in. This is something you don’t get at Starbucks, of which I am not a fan. My late son worked at Starbucks and always said, “Starbucks doesn’t sell coffee, they sell flavors.” Thankfully for them this is true, because their coffee, just black, is really not very good. Just one coffee lovers opinion.

So here is the video, I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
